Astra Platform Services (APS)
operates a broadcasting centre in Unterföhring near Munich, Germany. It
offers services including play-out, multiplexing, encryption and satellite
uplinks to broadcasters including Germany's first "open" Pay-TV platform and
uplinks for High Definition TV. "Bluecom interactive" developed by APS combines
television and mobile technology with bluetooth technology.
APS uplinks
one third of all digital channels broadcast by the Astra satellites.
