The Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications, one of the world's first satellite operators, has been offering telecommunications services since 1971. Intersputnik is an open intergovernmental organization that can be joined by any state. Today, Intersputnik has 24 member countries.

Intersputnik provides direct access to the global and regional satellite communications systems to broadcasters, telecom operators and corporate customers. Intersputnik offers services on three Russian-built Express-A-series satellites (Express-6A, Express-3A, Express-A1R) and the LMI-1 satellite of the joint venture Lockheed Martin Intersputnik. Under distribution agreements, Intersputnik markets and sells Eutelsat satellite capacity and telecommunications services as well as capacity of new Yamal-200 satellites owned by Gazcom (Russia).

Intersputnik offers integrated telecom and broadcasting solutions within the framework of alliances with teleport operators and suppliers of ground equipment. The Intersputnik system incorporates over 50 ground stations for trunk links and more than 1,500 VSAT and TV distribution terminals.
