Metracom, the French leader of
telecommunications systems by satellite since 1986, opened in October 2004 its
subsidiary on the African continent in order to be closer to its customers of
the sub-Saharan zone. Metracom Afrique aims to provide a whole range of added
value services: advice, training, contracts of services and spare materials,
new materials available on the spot, laboratory tests, on site
services.
The close relation between Metracom and Africa is not recent.
Many achievements in the sphere of Telecoms & Broadcast give evidence of
that: upgrade of existing hubs, setting of multiplexing IP and GSM with
compression, VSAT Stations, fly-away stations for mobile BTS, levelling of
transmitters, upgrade DVB on systems of analogical contribution TV, supply and
setting up of infrastructures allowing the distribution by satellite of TV and
radio programs towards terrestrial stations.
