Founded in 2004, OmniGlobe Networks is a
global telecommunications company that provides affordable and reliable
services in the regions of the world where the terrestrial infrastructures are
either unavailable, unreliable, or simply too expensive.
In Canada,
OmniGlobe is now dominant in the remote and rural markets. We have firm
commitments to deliver our solutions to British Columbia, Saskatchewan,
Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Nunavut communities.
In the Europe,
Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, we have won several major contracts with
international operators and are well positioned to become the sole supplier of
satellite communications equipment and solutions to a number of governments
around the world.
Today, OmniGlobe's wide and diverse customer base
ranges from domestic consumers and aboriginal communities to government
agencies and private institutions worldwide. It employs over 50 employees
worldwide and sells its services in over 75 countries.
Broadband
Internet
Whatever the geography, we will work with your community to
engineer the right connectivity solution for you and your community.
- If you are located just outside the reach
of the local telecom provider's footprint, we will extend the Internet backbone
using a microwave backhaul network. Our local wireless network will then reach
up to 1,500 customers within a radius of 30 km. We will provide the equipment,
the technical training and support model to keep subscribers up and running,
24/7 - happily browsing the Internet.
- If, on the other hand, your community is
located in a remote region, you will benefit from our satellite-wireless
solution. All we have to do is install a small satellite earth station, which
we co-locate with our base station and other key products. Our satellite and
wireless technologies can be easily transported and installed, allowing you to
instantly gain access to a wide range of communications services including high
speed Internet, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), tele-education, e-health,
and Virtual Private Network (VPN) services for advanced enterprise applications
and security issues.
- As part of our solutions, we can offer a
suite of online tools that enable administrators to add and drop from an
installed customer base and to monitor the service quality in real time. We
have also developed unique technology to optimize bandwidth and performance -
which means that we can offer you our service at a very competitive price. You
in turn can offer a great experience to your customers. We offer pre-paid
billing integrated with our OmniCenter platform that enables you to deliver a
sustainable service to subscribers that don't have access to credit cards or
bank accounts.
Cellular Services
In Canada,
an estimated 8% of the population still doesn't have access to cellular
services. This situation is particularly acute in rural communities in the
northern and remote regions of Canada, as the costs of extending cell phone
coverage have, until now, been thought to exceed the revenues resulting from
such an extension.
OmniGlobe Networks' Lynx Mobility is a
community-driven cellular service for remote and rural Canada.
Lynx
Mobility is distinguished by its innovative revenue-sharing business models,
leading-edge satellite network management technology and cost-effective use of
resources.
- Canada's first nationwide cellular
service provider that is co-owned by an Aboriginal partner
- dedicated to serving remote and rural
communities across Canada
- offering a low-cost cellular service that
is ideally suited for deployment in unserved areas, meeting all the technical,
price and scalability requirements.
- offering a sustainable partnership model
with local communities, enabling them to locally brand and manage their
cellular service whilst generating revenues and profits, creating high-tech
employment and local capacity in the community.
